I don't know of any single tool that works on both platforms.
Here are some options:
xv (available on most flavors of UNIX, see http://www.trilon.com/xv/)
xgrabsc (available on most flavors of UNIX)
gjet (harder to find, but has nice command-line options)
Use an X client such as Reflection X to display the windows
on your PC, then use any of the fine Windows screen capture
programs. (See the numerous discussions in the techwr-l archives
for suggestions). If you're writing a document on your PC, this
is probably the easiest, if you don't mind the window borders
looking a bit PC-ish.
