Other than the fact that you have mysteriously dropped the phrase "in its
own right" from your statements above? Something is valuable in its own
right if its value stands alone. It is valuable only as a means to an end
(as money is) then it is not valuable in its own right.
Money is only valuable when there is something to buy. Writing is only
valuable when there is something to say.
