Agree with Willow here, again (and yes, I knew/assumed that Willow is

My SMEs fall helplessly at my feet when I show that I actually have an
understanding of PKI or database encryption. It's all I can do to fend them
off when I file an SPR or submit an enhancement request.

I think actual technical knowledge and interest accomplishes more than cute
outfits, or baking muffins, for that matter. And it's definitely more
career-advancing (weak tech-writing tie-in).
