John. Some of us are getting a tad too old for that
trick to work, though. :-)
I'm 3 weeks into a new contract, and so far my
projects have been small and subject only to my direct
supervisor's approval. (Nothing like having a deadline
on the second day on a job.) I'm waiting to see what
the review process is going to be like when the real
project gets under way. I've never really had much
trouble in the past...unless I've simply forgotten
them!
In both my most recent FT gigs, my SMEs got their
reviews back to me in record time, without brownies or
flashing thighs. I think they liked reading what I
wrote, since among other things it clarified what they
knew that had done! Even when I missed something, they
were able to see and make the correction. QA loved it
too.
It also helps that my bosses were totally committed to
documentation as part of the project/product.
