Most? Can't say. Of all the clients and companies I've
worked for, only one sported totally irrational and
immature executives. One in particular used to make
ANYONE lower in rank than him part of his "task
squad", doing his stoopid market research for him.
We're talking project managers, developers, tech
writers, trainers, sales people, ANYONE. Meanwhile
he'd walk around asking "what are YOU working on?"
while flaunting his latest techie gadget of the week.
When in a sour mood, he'd take his frustration out on
a filing cabinet next to his office. The damned thing
looked like a piece of wannabe-modern art after a
while, and was actually replaced twice in the year I
was there. You could often hear him screaming at
someone about something, and not a meeting went by
without him walking in, interrupting without apology,
lambasting someone in front of whoever else was in the
room, and leaving. Basically, he was a problem child,
but one whom you couldn't punish. Actually it was like
being in grade school and having to deal with the
bully 6th grader who was kept back a few times... not fun.
