What happens when you send this document to someone who doesn't have the
capability to select different printer bins? He is going to be stuck with
whatever his printer can output.
Well, you would send it as PDF, probably. And PDF supports mixed page sizes, no problem. So, are you arguing, that including that capability in PDF was an error?
Or what if you have an tabloid-size printer and design 11"x17" size pages and send that to somebody who has only a letter-size printer?
Or if you design letter-size pages and send them to Europe, where letter sizes paper is not to be found?
In short, I don't think the argument about possible problems because of different printer capabilities really applies here.
