Re: Career Fair etiquette/behavior
My question is this: Does anyone know if there is a particular way toAnybody looking for work should have a capsule bio ready to reel off. Unless your interviewer is very skilled - and often even then - you are likely to be asked, "So tell me about yourself." If you have something ready to say, you can't help but looke better than most interviewees. Instead of stammering and trying to marshall your thoughts, you can sound prepared and confident.
approach companies at a job fair? Do you treat it like a mini-interview and
wait for questions, or do you have a quick summary of yourself that you
deliver with your resume?
As a matter of fact, I'd go even further. Have a couple of different versions of your bio, a long and a short one. In addition, have a few sentences prepared about each job, especially your most recent ones. Then practice delivering all these speeches until they sound natural. If your experience is anything like mine, you'll find that the effort pays off.
