=================================================
I am awfully tired of having to remind my students
that the number one requirement of employers is not
a degree in the field of employment but the ability
to communicate effectively, both orally and textually.
==================================================

The quote above, from a Technical Communicator /
Teacher of Writing, is featured in the lead article
of the current issue of _Technical Communication_
from the Society for Technical Communication.

Further, the argument is made, in the same article,
that *Writers* are not respected because *Writing* is
not respected and not emphasized in the schools.
