You're working at Sandia Labs, right, Ted? You're surrounded by bright, inquisitive people, I would imagine.

However, out here in the world of commerce, where all those people whose average IQ is 100 need to have jobs, the answer to your How often does that happen question is MOST OF THE TIME!

Sorry to disillusion you, but the world is full of people who would are not interested in learning anything new. I don't include any tech writers I know in this majority, of course--not even the ones I disagree with a lot.
