TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I took my first tech writing job because I could not find anything else and I happenned to fit the requirements for an ad on the net. A friend told me not to take it. "Are you going to do this all your life, eurk!". I thought the same thing, but figured it would be easy money.
I loved it, found many great challenges and now I am building on the skills and knowledge I have to develop more, as the job is not just the easy boring thing I thought it to be.
You never know until you try, and somehow the job is what you make of it anyway.
