Netscape's or Mozilla's e-mail client is free.
Mozilla is not only free; it's Bayesian logic spam filters are a Thing of Beauty. No complex filtering rules to set up - none at all - just a few weeks of 'training' Mozilla, and 99% of the spam is caught automatically. Not one false positive yet.
