Last night, 2 of my coworkers got into a shouting match. One was waiting all day with nothing to do (2 days before a major scheduled release?? He requires a lot of maintenance in the organization and initiative areas, besides being a major whiner). The other was supposed to be coordinating regression tests on a new web server (he will never give a direct answer the first time you ask him any question -- he thinks he's being funny, but it makes him difficult to deal with).

Now, these are not technical writers, but there are particular skill sets that can be learned about communications, active listening, making and keeping commitments, managing expectations, and professional behaviour. I just haven't seen many articles on this subject lately. How does one expect to keep a job in this down market if one keeps acting like an a$$h*le? Pardon my medicalese.

Just a thought.

What are the titles of up to 20 articles that you would like to read in the
December issue of a professional journal for technical writers?
