Re: Offshore writers and editors
I think we have this all wrong. Here is how I think we could proceed:
1. Personally hire an offshore technical writer for $25.00 per hour.
2. Bill his or her work out for $50.00 per hour to our clients (or employer)
3. Sit back and watch the profits roll into our bank accounts.
This is all in good fun. The fact of the matter is that we all know it
won't work. And THAT is why offshoring technical writing is a bad idea.
What won't work? When the Australian dollar was worth 50 cents US, you could hire me at US$25 an hour and I'd be happy, because I was getting A$50, exactly what I could typically get within the job market here. And you wouldn't get any less quality from me, either.
