The "difference" is jobs. How many Tech Writers do you know that are looking for work where you are be it America, Canada or elsewhere? The fact is, the companies are following the bottom dollar and going for the cheap labor wherever they can get it. Good writers are having to work for whatever they can get or re-sell themselves to prove their worth.
