They weren't offshoring jobs by the carload back
before the stock market tanked. Why weren't they
taking my buying habits as an excuse for offshoring
back then when money was loose and everybody was
buying?
Offshoring was happening, but the infrastructure and management model wasn't in place and comfortable. But it is an inevitable result of the technology. You can bet that they were working toward this development with or without the consent of your buying habits. The fact that offshoring has exploded just means that they finally figured out to open the gates.
