I haven't used OpenOffice, but I have used earlier versions of
StarOffice and was quite impressed, especially with the ability to work
on PPT slides and trade them back and forth with PowerPoint. I liked
having a single entry point (much like MS Works but with greater
functionality than MS Office). I don't recall ever having problems with
my system after installation that could've been attributed to SO. I
found Bruce's comparison between OO and Frame to be compelling as well
(and I'm an avid/rabid? Frame fan).
If I didn't already own copies of MS Office and I needed a good office
productivity suite, I'd have no qualms about using OpenOffice.
