I've always found the salaries in that survey to be fairly accurate;
however, at the moment they do not necessarily reflect the current
salaries at which TW's are currently being HIRED in this
less-than-wonderful market.
In many cases, the salaries probably reflect the earnings of many people
who were lucky enough to have kept their jobs, skewing them higher than
the current market.
I know I'm thrilled every day my key card still opens the door at work. I
lived through five or six layoffs that reduced my company's size by 90%,
and assume I'd be looking at a 10-to-20K pay cut if I have to find a job
elsewhere. We live in interesting times...
