"Worzel Gummidge" asked
"How does on permanently anchor images in Word. Seems that they move when
ever I move the text...ARHHHHH"
-----
First of all: Dont use floating images and especially unlocked textboxes in Word if
you can avoid it. It's the default, but it will cause you a lot of stability problems.
Instead -- as far as possible -- use images placed on the text line and tables without
frame lines. For example make a table with two columns and one row, and place the
text in one cell and the image in the other cell.
(In the following please observe that my version of Word XP is Danish, and I have
translated the menues back to English myself. The words used may consequently
differ from Microsofts. Furthermore, the different versions of MS Word differs on
these functions.)
To put an image on the text line:
1. Select the image.
2. Select the menu Format > Picture.
3. Select the "Layout" tab.
4. Select "On line with text".
You can make this the default setting as follow:
1. Select the menu Functions > Settings.
2. Select the tab "Edit".
3. In the drop-down box "Insert images as", select "On line with text".
However, if you want to use floating images (for example as background) you can
lock the anchor to a specific paragraph as follow:
1. Select the image.
2. Click and move the anchor to the paragraph you want to link it to.
3. Select the menu Format > Picture.
4. Select the "Layout" tab.
5. Click "Advanced..."
6. Checkmark "Lock anchor". The anchor will now have a "lock" mark
