Sify appears to be an Indian equivalent of Yahoo. I don't see any direct
contradictions. The previous stories I saw all mentioned that Dell wasn't
cutting staff at the Bangalore call center. The US version put a US spin on
it, the Indian version puts an Indian spin on it. So what else is new?
I was amused by two aspects of the Sify story:
-- It quoted a female at Dell India ("She said...") identified as a
"spokesperson," and then referred to "A spokesman of the Texas-based
company..." So gender-neutrality only applies to women. :-)
-- The aforementioned Dell India spokesperson seems to be conflicted about
whether to use American English (a company is a singular noun) or British
English (a company is a plural noun) : "Dell is committed to India and are
growing"
Happy Turkeyday Eve to my fellow 'murricans!
