that the PDF slowly grows to an unacceptable size. It would seem that, even when bookmarks and pages are deleted from the PDF, information about these items is preserved in the PDF.
Until someone comes up with a better way to create the PDF from HTML files, here's a suggestion for dealing with the increase in file size. Each time you make a change to the PDF, use Save As to create a different file. This technique dumps most of the clutter and duplicated information in the file. You can always rename the ensmalled file afterwards.
