Yep. I write a lot of PHP and HTML, and I use vim, a highly improved version
of vi. It certainly had a steep learning curve, but it's worth it for the
staggering amount of utility it has. It has a lot of features for
programmers, and a lot of configurability. The included help files are
great, and the online tips/tricks are handy. It's certainly not new and
sexy, but it's small, fast, powerful, and everywhere. I've used it on Linux
(and five other Unixes), Windows, and MacOS and I really appreicate being
