In the absence of a specific definition of "a page" on the
contract, I would take "a page" to be one page in whatever
format was provided to me by the client.  Getting into a
discussion over "book" or "manuscript" pages would be
an exercise in futility.  OTOH, if you really want to work
for these people again, trying to argue with them may be
as well.
