Agreed, suck it up if you want more ... or set the
record straight if you don't necessarily.
I once did a job for a pubs dept. as a contractor and
got back a comment that "I used word XYZ way and [the
pubs manager in question] would have taken a less time
consuming, simpler approach." The point being, that he
seemed to think I was being clever for the sake of
being clever. I could have let it drop, but didn't,
and responded that I agreed exactly with his approach
and reasons, but I did that particular item that
particular way because I had received very explicit
instructions, including an example, from his technical
writers to do it that way.
That's not to say Bonnie's response couldn't be
perceived as whining, but it might also be perceived
as setting the record straight.
