I think you're right to have doubts about this one.
The first problem with this model is content: if you have something really
unique, then the rest can potentially follow if you resolve all the issues
you raise. But I think nobody will buy a $3 course on using MS Project from
an unknown when there are so many standard courses available on the subject.
If your partner can come up with something that isn't already offered, then
you can see about addressing all the other details.
New businesses don't have to take five years to turn a profit. With the
right model, hard work, timing, luck, etc., it can be done in less.
