Alas, it would be a fool's errand for anyone (or a great bunch
of people) to read all of the email.
Google is pretty open about all this. I would think that the
prospect of revenues from this innocuous "marketing on top of
email" shouldn't hurt their IPO and stock price either.
BTW, I've been waiting for an invitation to get my Gmail
account. I have even gone so far as to ask (on a google local
list) for anyone to invite me, but it has been a couple of months
now, no offers.
