This is not at all what Google is doing with Gmail. No one is reading
your email. They are using the exact same technology (adwords) they
use to put targeted ads on web sites to put ads in the email. Its a
program, not a person. The ads are really unobtrusive and not a big
deal -- they're certainly not the HUGE FLASHING BANNERS that hotmail
and yahoo have with thier free email services. They never send you
any spam.
If ad-supported free email services offend you in general, OK then.
Don't sign up.
