US Google has 3,050,000 for "file system" (two words and with quotation
marks so Google searches for a string, file<space>system.
US Google has 3,680,000 for filesystem.
But it's like comparing apples and oranges. One would have to structure
a query that reflected context, and these two searches don't do that.
(None of the one-word hits are for a general readership.)
