Microsoft pays dearly. It's an adverb, requiring the adverb form ending in
-ly. Shakespeare can be allowed poetic license, but in contemporary prose,
the adverb should be used.

Steve wrote, 'And the problem with that sentence is what, exactly?
"Bloomer" is UK English for "blooper."'

"Bloomer" is US English (although outdated) for "underwear." That sentence
in the article made me think of "World Wide Pants" because of its reference
to geography. And it's true, in some circumstances, underwear can cause
embarrassment and cost money on a grand scale. ;-)

(The sentence in question is, "The company has now launched geography
classes for its staff to avoid further bloomers which have caused
embarrassment and cost money on a grand scale.")
