Eric Raymond did a document on
"How To Ask Questions The Smart Way"
http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

It is mainly aimed at people seeking technical
help from hackers, and largely about how not
to waste hackers' time.

I don't agree with all of it, but do feel it is
basically on the right track. I think every tech
writer, at least in the computer industry, should
read it. After all, we spend a lot of time trying
to extract information from hackers. We might as
well do it right :-)
