TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I have been saved from typing CTS by the fact that I
am one of the world's fastest two-finger typists, and
from power tool CTS by the fact that I never seem to
be able to complete a home improvement project without
shedding blood (and hence, have been barred by my wife
from touching any power tool beyond a drilldriver and
a power sander).
Mousing is another matter, especially when doing CAD
and illustration work. The best advice I can offer is
to take lots of breaks, vary the position of your mousing
arm as much as possible, and consider some of the many
alternate input devices available.
You might also consider cultivating an interest in more
traditional woodworking techniques. :)

Oddly enough, the start of these symptoms coincides with my purchase
of a house about two months ago where I've now been practically
living with a circular saw/reciprocating saw/hammer in my off-hours
and I understand that power tool vibration can contribute to this
inflammation.
So...what have you-guys done when you experienced these symptoms? It
seems that typing doesn't cause me problem, but using my mouse for
long periods does.
