I have played the guitar for years and now I can only sustain a chord for a few minutes before my hand goes numb. I too thought this carpal tunnel stuff was made up until that happened. Believe me it is not made up. I did repetitive stuff for years (guitar, typing, fishing, golf) and never had a problem. They tell me age is a factor and maybe they are right. I didn't get this till around 48 years old.
