find that table would be a great help. <<

And here's an example of where, no matter how well
analyzed the product is, it's the skill and imagination
of the tech writer that ultimately defines the quality
of the documentation.

An analysis indicates that users can re-name columns.
How you document this, what you provide to users to
assist in this effort is what marks the skills of the
writer.

Whenever we indicate that a user should track
something, or has an oppontunity to modify default
settings, we provide a worksheet in the documentation
to do so with blank areas, with enough space to be
written in by hand.

We provide this on a separate page, so that if they
are reading the PDF version, they can print it out
to write down their own values for themselves or
their peers.

This is a case where a simple table of the default
column headings can be listed, and where the user
cannot change the setting, say so, and where the user
can make a change, provide a blank cell, so the user
can write in the value they change it to.

CB - imagination can be more useful than the analysis
