The NeXT system used Postscript for printing and screen rendering; OSX
uses PDF for both. As you are probably aware, PDF is a compressed
PostScript with a file wrapper. Thus, the screen rendering for NeXT
was referred to as "Display PostScript" while the rendering for OS X
is called "Display PDF".
I am not aware of how they do screen capture on OS X, however. Is it a
simple pixel grab, or is there a tool that can capture the PDF? If so,
that would seem to be a superior system for later reproduction.
