To me the key question is: does converting to hourly mean that benefits go
away? If so, you're being hosed. If not, I think it's possibly a step up.
Every tech writing gig I've done has required some overtime, and hourly
pay would mean you'd actually make more money.
Please clarify. If the change is from salary with benefits to hourly with
none, then yeah, it should be pretty obvious that a hosing is taking
place. Otherwise, enjoy the new setup and use it as a way to make more
money!
