This is such a great list.

Thanks very much to Brian and Dick. Right-clicking Cascade Windows on
the task bar solved both problems.

Bonnie, thanks for your suggestion, too. In this particular case,
moving things out of the way did not reveal the missing dialog box
and window.

Whew. I was beginning to think it was a virus.
