No, I hadn't heard of Laszlo, but of course I went and looked it up...
It's a tool for building Flash web applications, and a Tomcat servlet
container for serving them. I wonder if their open-sourcing of Laszlo
was an effort to get ahead of these announcements of similar tools from
Macromedia:
The Laszlo management team does have some former Macromedia folks on
board.
Laszlo is also attempting to launch a new buzzword: "rich Internet
application (RIA)." The word Flash barely appears on their site. LOL -
they're trying to call it anything but Flash!
I couldn't run any of the demos - I just got a big empty box that said
"Click here to download plugin." But I don't want no plugins... :-)
