It's been a while, but I used OmniPage 10 several years back to do the same thing. It's not 100% accurate, 95% was about the best I could get, but it sure beat the heck out of retyping everything. (I'm not sure, but I think you might be able to run the OCR right from the PDF file...at least it wouldn't hurt to try.) Ninety-five percent is as good as you will get out of even the best voice-recognition programs (Dragon Naturally Speaking for example). However, I should also add that if your text includes graphics, good luck.
