TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I am interested in more conversation about this. Perhaps our members in
India can help us interpret this data?
Section 27.1 provides this information:
A technical writer in India, with 0-2 years experience, makes an average
of INR 6306.
A technical writer in the US, with the same experience, makes an average
of USD 41690.
A technical writer in India, with 6-10 years experience, makes an
average of INR 16078.
A technical writer in the US, with the same experience, makes an average
of USD 62950.
What resources do you site to show that these are comparable incomes?
What standard of living does INR 6306 or INR 16078 provide in Chennai?
Bangalore? Pune?
Katherine
