According to Todd R. Groff and Thomas P. Jones in  
_Introduction_to_Knowledge_Management_ (Butterworth-Heinemeann 2003), 
knowledge managemetn is "the tools, techniques, and startegies to 
retain, analyze, organize, improve, and share business expertise."

Yes, it is a very nasty overused super-marketed annoying buzzword.

We have set up a KM listserve but so far not much has happened 
there--mostly my fault at this point. I would like to get more 
information flow in STC and amongst techwhirlers on this topic. In the 
last 3 months I've read seven books and several dozen white papers on 
this one topic. My brain is still aching from the corporatese.
