TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Perhaps someone qualified in usability, etc. can elaborate on KBs for this gentleman. Or perhaps someone can elaborate, in general.

Suppose you aren't sure of what is meant by "knowledge base"? If I do
a Google search for "knowlede base", in quotes to make sure I only
get exact matches, I get 24 million 800 hits. I really doubt that
every instance of use is refering to the same
understanding.

against any opponent. People know this,
and steer clear of me at parties.
Often, as a sign of their great respect,
they don't even invite me."
