What I don't understand is what the point of the discussion is when
there's no body in sight that's even remotely considering certification.
It seems a little premature.

However, that does bring up a point: If anyone wants to start their own
business, a certification program, maybe complete with courses, might be
a possibility. Long-time tech-writers looking for something new might
find it especially rewarding.

(And no, don't look at me. I just realized as I wrote that it's been
eight months since I opened FrameMaker or did any tech-writing. Maybe
I'm an ex-tech-writer.)
