Machine translators rarely work well, and are usually used by human
translators when in a pinch, after which they perform editing on the
translated output.

I don't recommend having a non-native speaker of the target language
use a machine translator unless that person plans to pass it off to a
native speaker of that language who is also fluent in the source
language and an expert in the subject matter for editing.

There's a reason why translation is costly. "Bite the wax tadpole"
comes to mind. ;-)

There are other ways of minimalizing translation costs, such as using
translation memory and good translators who know the subject matter
well.
