If your index is a separate section at or near the
endo of the document, and has it's own page numbering
and headers and footers, I would be *rather* upset if
Word set those headers and footers to Same as
Previous. All the index header/footer formatting would
be lost.
I think you misunderstood. The { INDEX } field includes two section breaks of its own. It's *those* that I assume are being set to Same as Previous. That's a good thing, because I've already set up the enclosing section the way I want it, and I wouldn't want Word to arbitrarily decide what my headers and footers should look like *within* that section.
On the other hand, maybe *I* misunderstood. Maybe it was the *enclosing* headers and footers that were being reset, which would be a bad thing for precisely the same reason.
