Well, one method that would work is to save your Frame files as MIF.
Then you can open all of the MIF files in TextPad.
In TextPad write a macro containing all of your 'illegal words' and
replace them with the appropriate 'legal word'. TextPad allows you to
open all of the MIF files and perform the search/replace across all open
files with one click. Your macro would just need to cycle through the
'illegal/legal' word list one time.
Once all the replacement is finished, reopen the MIF into Frame and save
as Frame.

Subject: "Mass" Find/Replace in FrameMaker 7.0
Hi everyone,
I've created a customized Simplified English word list. In this list
I've identified numerous "illegal" words. Now I need a quick way to
check a document to make sure these words haven't been used.
I'm using FrameMaker 7.0. Does anyone know of any way that I can do a
"mass" Find/Replace through a document? Maybe there's a plug-in that
might make this easier that having to search for each illegal word
individually... We're going to be switching to Structured FrameMaker
with XML in 2006, maybe this is easier to do in Structured Frame?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks!
R.
