Tony,

Using Structured Framemaker requires more up front work. Structured
Framemaker is designed to facilitate the process of creating and editing XML
documents. In some industries such us aerospace, documentation must be
produced and exchanged in industry XML standards like S1000D or iSpec 2200.
The benefits are: media independent publishing (print, web, wireless),
content reuse and repurposing, and the ability to perform structured queries
against your documentation database. For example using XQuery, you can
search all maintenance procedures that are applicable to a specific aircraft
fault code for a specific aircraft tail number). By separating content and
presentation, XML allows you to automate document processing to satisfy a
variety of use cases.

Kind regards,
