I am sorry I thought you meant scoping of a document and not a system. In terms of a document, it displays a schematic which lists things such as subject, purpose, audience, needed elements, needed sources (developers etc), reviews, production concerns etc. It also lists a variety of software that can help out.

Thanks for the response. How does the book say the scoping of a system should be done?

(Note: By scoping a system I mean determining the extent of a system, in other words, determining the boundary of a system.)
