First...calm down, you will NOT be ruined as a technical writer and
independant contractor...the worst that will happen is you'll be
fired and you'll have a 10 month gap in your resume when you omit
this gig.
Second, you asked what we would do. Here's what I would do.
I could get 1,000 pages of Word document into FM in about a day and
clean up all the styles in another day. At that point, you have one
more day to do whatever it is you ned to clean it up.
Generate a PDF to show the Gov's people...they won't know what you
are writing in.
This will not be easy and expect to work a LARGE number of hours
between now and Monday. But that's what I would do. Others may have
other suggestions.
