You must be filtering to companies that specify they want "local
applicants only" instead of companies that are searching for applicants
from anywhere. To me that's a flaw with the way Monster is designed--it
will push results to you based on what the hiring company wants
regardless of what you tell it you want. It's an extra hoop you have to
jump through if you want to remove out-of-town jobs from your search
results. If I tell it I want jobs within 50 miles of me, the engine
should know better than to show me results from companies in California
or New York state just because the hiring company is not restricting
their search to local candidates only.
