To learn basic FrameMaker skills, I suggest:
1. Doing a simple project, using the built-in features to get a feel for the program.
2. Using the paragraph and character designer to create and maintain style tags. While doing this, be sure to develop a couple of levels of numbering.
3. Using the master pages to design a custom page layout/template.
4. Putting together multiple FrameMaker docs using the book feature.
5. Creating a table of contents for the book.
6. Learning to import template and styles on a book level.
