Ok, let me get this straight. Your boss wants you to rearrange your desk
to at least 30", and you are saying it is already at 42"?
That is what your post is saying. Is that your question, whether you are
in compliance already?
Ask your boss for the distance again, measure, and if it complies tell
your boss that it is done. If they still want you to rearrange your space,
then ask for exact requirements, and probably what they want the space to
look like.
Or perhaps you boss has an interpretation of this "regulation" that is not
being passed on to.
